Alia Bhatt Slams Publicity Stunt Rumors Amid Parag Tyagi’s Critical Hospitalization: “This Is No Joke!”

Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt has unleashed a storm of outrage, calling out what she sees as a shameless attempt to use tragedy for personal gain. Furious and unfiltered, Alia took to social media to blast Shefali Jariwala’s husband, Parag Tyagi, along with the directors of the iconic “Kaanta Laga” remix, Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, accusing them of exploiting Shefali’s tragic passing for the sake of cheap publicity.

“Stop Using a Death for Your Cheap Publicity!”

Alia didn’t mince words in her scathing post. She condemned the trio for their public announcement that the “Kaanta Laga” song would be retired forever, claiming it was a tribute to Shefali—the original “Kaanta Laga” girl. But Alia wasn’t buying their so-called gesture.

Instead, she accused them of turning a woman’s heartbreaking death into a PR stunt, using Shefali’s name to grab headlines and pretending to be creators of something that, in her words, “wasn’t even theirs to begin with.”

Brutal Honesty Sparks Debate

Alia’s post was brutally honest. She wrote, “RIP, and all, to the 40-year-old lady”—a line that immediately sparked backlash from some quarters for being too blunt. But Alia stood her ground, defending her words fiercely.

“So I’m being called insensitive. Really?” she fired back. “Are we just okay with legends like R.D. Burman, Lata Mangeshkar, and Majrooh Sultanpuri being forgotten while their original masterpieces are butchered into remixes without any credit?”

She continued, “We are okay with people milking someone’s death and calling themselves the makers of ‘Kaanta Laga’ when they simply shot a remix video? Let’s not glorify it. ‘Kaanta Laga’ was just a flashy remix video with suggestive visuals featuring a 19-year-old girl. Of course, they didn’t ask the original music legends for permission before twisting their work into something vulgar and commercial.”

A Tragic Loss

As a reminder, Shefali Jariwala—who shot to fame as the face of the “Kaanta Laga” remix—tragically passed away on the night of June 27th at her home in Mumbai. She was rushed to Belleview Multinational Hospital, but it was already too late.

Now, as Parag Tyagi battles for his life in hospital, the controversy over how Shefali’s memory is being honored—or exploited—continues to rage. Alia Bhatt’s bold words have ignited a larger conversation about respect, authenticity, and the true meaning of tribute in the entertainment industry.
