Gangster Threatens Kapil Sharma and Bollywood, Claims Responsibility for Firing at Canadian Restaurant Over Salman Khan Event
Comedy icon Kapil Sharma has found himself at the center of serious controversy following a second reported incident of gunfire at his restaurant in Canada. Unlike previous controversies linked to light-hearted jokes, this time the matter involves gang threats and violence — allegedly connected to notorious gangster networks.
Reports indicate that a Canada-based restaurant owned by Kapil Sharma was targeted again with gunfire. The attack was claimed by gangster Hari Boxer, said to be associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Notably, there had been a previous shooting at the same location a few months ago.
What has shocked many is the emergence of an audio clip in which Hari Boxer reportedly claims responsibility for the firing and directly threatens Kapil Sharma in connection with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. According to the gangster, the restaurant was targeted because Kapil had invited Salman Khan to inaugurate his Netflix show. The audio further warns that anyone working with Salman Khan would be shot, and that next time, there would be no warning.
The threat extended beyond Kapil Sharma and Salman Khan, warning all Bollywood directors, producers, and actors against associating with Salman. The gangster threatened to make the atmosphere in Mumbai so dangerous that people would reconsider working in the film industry.
While the authenticity of the audio clip has yet to be officially verified, the incident has prompted intense investigations, with both Canadian law enforcement and Indian security agencies monitoring the situation closely.
The most recent firing occurred on August 7, when Kapil’s café was reportedly struck by six bullets, shattering windows while the establishment was closed. Video footage shows an attacker filming from the car while another, dressed in a green t-shirt, exited the vehicle and fired shots.
Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Dhillon have publicly claimed responsibility for the attack — with Goldy Dhillon posting a message on social media saying the shooting was a direct consequence of Kapil Sharma’s actions.
In recent years, several Bollywood celebrities, including Salman Khan, have received threats from gangster groups. The ongoing threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and its affiliates now pose a growing danger not just to law and order, but also to the film industry.
This latest incident has sparked concerns and debate over whether artists must now seriously consider their safety when taking on film projects, and if law enforcement agencies are adequately prepared to prevent such attacks.
