Heartbreaking Scene in Bihar: Grieving Mother in Uniform Tries to Revive Deceased Son

A gut-wrenching video from Ara, Bihar, has moved viewers across the country, capturing a mother in uniform desperately trying to wake her lifeless son. Despite knowing her 15-year-old son’s body was cold and unresponsive, the mother’s heart refused to accept the tragic reality. She was seen giving him CPR, checking for a pulse, rubbing his hands and feet, stroking his head, and pleading with him: “Look, son, your mother is here.”

The devastated woman in the video is identified as Chandni Kumari, a home guard posted at the Ara District Magistrate’s office. Her son, Mohit Raj, was found dead in their home after taking his own life. Earlier that morning, Chandni had fed Mohit breakfast and sent him to school. Before leaving, Mohit mentioned he would like to go to the park later that evening—a promise he would never fulfill.

Police investigations revealed that just before committing suicide, Mohit had made a phone call. He then went to an upstairs room in their two-story house and hanged himself. The family rushed him to the hospital, but doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

The scene at the hospital was heartbreaking. Still in her uniform, Chandni arrived running from her office, and for nearly an hour, she tried every way she could to save Mohit—breathing air into his mouth, rubbing his arms, urging her daughters to massage his feet, and repeatedly begging him to get up. Even as doctors confirmed his passing, the mother refused to give up hope, clasping her hands in prayer to the goddess and asking for her son’s return.

The sight brought tears to the eyes of doctors, staff, and other families in the hospital. Chandni, who had always shown great strength in her uniform, was overcome with grief, losing consciousness as she held onto her son’s body. Mohit was her only son and a Class 9 student at Pratap International School. The family lives in the Nawada police station area of Ara, originally hailing from Jagdishpur.

This tragic incident has left the community in shock, as Mohit was a good student and known for his calm demeanor. The reason for his drastic decision remains a mystery. The video of this helpless mother has since gone viral on social media, with people sending condolences and prayers for her strength in this unimaginable time.

According to doctors, Mohit had died before reaching the hospital, with a dark mark visible on his neck. His mother, Chandni, continues to call out his name and faint from grief, while his father, Santosh Kumar, sits in silence, devastated by the loss.
