Successful Operation Mahadev: Indian Army Eliminates Mastermind of Pahalgam Terror Attack in Kashmir

On the third Monday of the auspicious Sawan month, the Indian Army achieved a major success in Kashmir with the successful completion of ‘Operation Mahadev’. The mastermind of the Pahalgam terror attack, the infamous terrorist Musa, has been killed.

The operation targeted the terrorists responsible for the deadly attack in Pahalgam on April 22, which claimed the lives of 26 innocent people. The Army, in a swift and decisive move, eliminated the suspected terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir, avenging the brutal assault and delivering justice to the victims.

The operation was launched in the dense forests near Danchi village, Srinagar, based on specific intelligence inputs received two days prior. Local residents had also reported suspicious activity, which led to the initiation of Operation Mahadev. Army teams, along with Jammu and Kashmir Police and the CRPF, launched a coordinated search operation and soon pinned down three suspects believed to be linked with the Pahalgam attack.

In the ensuing encounter, all three terrorists were gunned down. Among them was Musa, the mastermind behind the Pahalgam attack, and a wanted terrorist on the Indian Army’s radar for many months. Law enforcement agencies, including intelligence officers and the Jammu & Kashmir police, had been searching relentlessly for Musa. The successful completion of this mission, following a small yet crucial tip-off, is being hailed as a major achievement by security forces.

The Army recovered a large cache of arms, ammunition, and several days’ worth of rations from the slain terrorists. Musa’s death was confirmed by photograph evidence from the encounter site, marking the end of a months-long manhunt.

The neutralized terrorists were reportedly members of The Resistance Front (TRF), an outfit recently designated as a foreign terrorist organization by the United States. The loss of these key operatives is seen as a significant setback for the TRF and a major victory for India’s counter-terrorism efforts. A reward of INR 2 million had been announced for Musa, underlining his importance as a high-value target.

Operation Mahadev stands as a testament to the commitment and prowess of Indian security forces in safeguarding the nation and bringing perpetrators of terror to justice.
