Satisha Sarabhai, Beloved “Sarabhai vs Sarabhai” Star, Passes Away at 74

Veteran actor Satisha Sarabhai, cherished for his iconic comic performances and unforgettable portrayal of Indraadan Sarabhai in the hit sitcom *Sarabhai vs Sarabhai*, passed away on Saturday in Mumbai at the age of 74.

According to family sources, Satisha had been battling age-related and kidney ailments for several months. He breathed his last at a suburban hospital early Saturday morning.

Romesh Kadatala, Satisha’s personal assistant for over 30 years, shared that the actor passed away at his residence in Bandra East in the afternoon. Ashok Pandit, Satisha’s friend and industry colleague, also confirmed the news. Speaking to NDTV, Pandit said with a heavy heart, “Our friend and a very good actor, Sati Sha, died around 2:30 p.m. today due to kidney failure. His health deteriorated while he was at home and he was taken to the hospital immediately. Sadly, he couldn’t survive. His cremation will take place today. It is a very big loss for the industry. I have worked with him on many projects.”

Pandit also shared that he was returning from PJ Pand’s last rites when his family informed him about Satisha’s passing.

Satisha Sarabhai became a household name after starring in filmmaker Kundan Sha’s 1983 classic *Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro*, and his legacy in Indian television and cinema will be fondly remembered by fans and colleagues alike.
