His decomposing body was discovered on June 2, following several days of being reported missing.

What began as a presumed tragic accident quickly turned into a suspected murder. Police investigations revealed that Raja was likely thrown off the cliff, and that the murder had been meticulously planned. In a chilling twist, Raja’s own wife Sonam, along with her alleged lover Raj Kushwaha, are now the primary accused in orchestrating his killing. Also implicated are three hired shooters—Akash Rajput, Vishal Singh, and Anand Kurmi.

A Family’s Fear and Fury

The revelations have sparked outrage within the Raghuvanshi family. Raja’s brother, Sachin Raghuvanshi, has come forward with serious allegations—not only against Sonam and Raj but also against Sonam’s brother Govind Singh and their father Devi Singh. Sachin claims that Govind is going to great lengths to protect his sister, allegedly spending large sums to hire top lawyers in Shillong and Gujarat.

“We fear for our lives,” said Sachin in a media statement. “If anything happens to me or my brother, Govind and his family should be held responsible. He is not protecting his sister out of love—he’s trying to protect his own secrets.”

According to Sachin, those secrets include illegal hawala transactions that could come to light if Sonam speaks out under interrogation. “Govind is afraid that a narco test will reveal everything—his money laundering, the family’s illegal dealings, and the real motive behind Raja’s murder,” Sachin added.

Mysterious Connections and Hidden Agendas

Investigations have uncovered that Sonam had been in constant touch with her business partner in Gujarat, even from jail. Sources suggest that she wrote a letter requesting to meet him, which raises further suspicions about her financial activities. Sachin insists that Sonam and Raj were not acting alone. “They were backed by money and power,” he said. “There is a deeper conspiracy here.”

Meanwhile, Govind Singh’s behavior has raised eyebrows. Initially seen supporting Raja’s family during the funeral and making strong statements against Sonam, Govind’s recent actions suggest he may now be working to shield her.

Court Proceedings and Bail Drama

Three co-accused—property agent Shilam, building owner Lokendra, and security guard Balbir—have already been released on bail. This has intensified fears among the Raghuvanshi family that justice may be compromised. Sachin and his brother Vipin are now pushing for a narco analysis of Sonam, Raj, and Govind to uncover the full truth.

Vipin Raghuvanshi has flown to Shillong to file an appeal against the bail granted to the three accused and is also preparing to oppose Raj Kushwaha’s upcoming bail hearing scheduled for July 24.

“Each time someone gets bail, our mother’s condition worsens,” Vipin said, referring to their ailing mother Uma. “We want justice, not just for Raja but to prevent future tragedies like this.”

Police believe that Sonam and Raj plotted the murder soon after the wedding. Raja and Sonam had traveled to Meghalaya for their honeymoon, but soon after arriving in Sohra, he went missing. Police say the couple had lured him to an isolated location where he was pushed off a cliff by hired shooters.

Postmortem reports confirm death by blunt force trauma consistent with a fall from a great height. Forensic evidence from a rented apartment in Dewas Naka, where Sonam stayed after the murder, also points to her role in destroying evidence.
