Shocking Case from Unnao: Woman Gets Husband Murdered by Lover and Accomplice Over Unmet Desires

Unnao district in Uttar Pradesh has witnessed a chilling crime that has stunned locals. Police revealed that a woman conspired with her lover and his friend to murder her husband because he could not fulfill her extravagant desires—and because he had become an obstacle in her illicit affair.

The Murder Discovery
On 6 July, Imran alias Kale, an e‑rickshaw driver from Akhlaq locality under Gangaghat police station, was brutally murdered about five kilometers from his home in the Aslanj area.

The next day, residents noticed blood on a culvert near a drain along the Lucknow–Kanpur highway and alerted police. A search led officers to Imran’s body, hidden beneath the culvert in a swampy patch. His elder brother Salman immediately expressed suspicion toward his sister‑in‑law, prompting police to dig deeper.

The Investigation
During the investigation, police zeroed in on Shiva, Imran’s wife, and her behavior raised further doubts. Under questioning, the horrifying truth emerged: Shiva had plotted Imran’s murder with her lover, Farman alias Chunna—recently returned from Saudi Arabia—and Farman’s associate Rafiq.

Police arrested Shiva and Farman, but Rafiq remains at large.

The Motive
Shiva told investigators she had left her first husband three years ago and started living with Imran. However, Imran became addicted to drugs and squandered his earnings on intoxication. Six months before the murder, Shiva moved back to her parents’ home.

During this time she met Farman, a wealthy man working in Saudi Arabia. Farman indulged her love for new clothes and outings. Even after returning abroad, he maintained contact. On 18 June, Farman returned to India with his friend Rafiq, and the affair reignited.

When Imran discovered the relationship, he assaulted Shiva and demanded she return home with him. Following Farman’s advice, she did—but soon began plotting with him to eliminate her husband permanently.

The Night of the Crime
According to police, on the evening of 7 July, Farman used Rafiq to lure Imran to a meeting on the Lucknow–Kanpur highway. The two gave Imran drugs and alcohol until he was heavily intoxicated. Riding together on a motorcycle, they took him to an isolated culvert.

There, they threw him to the ground. Farman slit his throat with a knife while Rafiq held him down. As Imran struggled, tendons in his hands were severed. They dumped his body beneath the culvert in the marsh and fled, discarding the knife in nearby bushes—later recovered by police.

Arrests and Ongoing Search
Police arrested Shiva and Farman before they could flee abroad, but Rafiq is still on the run. Authorities say the murder was carefully planned, driven by greed and the desire to remove a “barrier” to the illicit affair.

The case has shocked Unnao residents and sparked widespread discussion about the dangers of unchecked vices and broken relationships. Investigations are ongoing, and police have assured the public that the remaining accused will soon be caught.
