On a day of high drama in Delhi, leading members of the INDIA alliance, including Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav, Mahua Moitra, and several other alliance MPs, took to the streets for a protest march. Amidst the commotion, a striking image caught everyone’s attention. Samajwadi Party MP Priya Saroj and TMC MP Mahua Moitra were seen supporting a fellow protester who had fallen ill—revealed to be TMC MP Mitali Bag. During the march, Bag began to feel unwell and eventually sat down on the ground as she grew faint, drawing concern from those around her.

As police were detaining the MPs and Rahul Gandhi was being taken away in a bus, Priya Saroj urgently called out to him for help. Witnessing the deteriorating condition of Bag, Rahul Gandhi quickly rushed out of the bus, pushed through the crowd, and went to her aid. He offered Mitali Bag water and helped her up, personally instructing his team to bring his car so she could be taken to the hospital. Once Bag was safely in his vehicle and on her way to receive medical attention, Rahul Gandhi rejoined the other detained MPs on the bus.

There is no official confirmation yet on what caused Mitali Bag’s sudden illness, though sources suggest it might have been due to the heat during the protest.

The INDIA alliance’s demonstration saw dramatic moments throughout, including Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav breaking through police barricades. Many senior opposition leaders, including Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi, were ultimately taken into police custody.

The protest was part of the INDIA alliance’s ongoing campaign against what they allege are major electoral irregularities and an attempt to draw attention to issues in the political process ahead of crucial elections.
