Shocking Revelations in Raja Raghuvanshi Murder Case: Property Dealer Arrested, Key Evidence Destroyed
In a startling twist in the murder case of transport businessman Raja Raghuvanshi, the Meghalaya Police are on the hunt for a missing trolley bag believed to have contained Raja’s gold chain and bracelet. The investigation has led to the arrest of another accomplice of Sonam, the main accused, as police uncover new leads in the case.
The trolley bag, which was reportedly hidden in a vacant plot in Nipania, was found burned. It was property dealer Silom James who set fire to the bag, destroying crucial evidence in the process. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) had been searching Indore for five days in pursuit of this bag, which was initially hidden by Raj and Sonam in a flat in Heera Bagh. The bag was said to contain clothes, a country-made pistol, and ₹5 lakh in cash—the same pistol allegedly used in Raja’s murder.
Raj had purchased the pistol from Sikli Gharon and initially planned to have Raja shot by Vishal, Akash, and Anand. However, after Akash’s arrest in Lalitpur on June 8, Sonam fled to Ghazipur, leaving the bag behind in the flat. When the SIT arrived to investigate, both the bag and the pistol were missing, despite an exhaustive five-day search.
The breakthrough came when CCTV footage revealed Silom James, a property dealer, removing the bag from the flat. Despite being repeatedly summoned for questioning, Silom evaded the police, claiming he was traveling to Bhopal and would return on Monday. He eventually switched off his phone, prompting the authorities to alert Shipra police, who apprehended him at a toll checkpoint.
Silom James has now been arrested and is facing transit remand. He is accused of helping Sonam and Raj dispose of the pistol, cash, clothes, and jewelry belonging to Raja Raghuvanshi. CCTV footage captured Silom leaving the building with the bag and later burning it in a vacant plot near Hare Krishna Vihar. Forensic teams and Shillong police are now collecting whatever evidence remains from the ashes.
The investigation has also revealed that Silom had rented the flat to Sonam and facilitated the disposal of the bag. The security guard from the Heera Bagh building, who was handed the keys by Silom, is now missing, raising further suspicions about the extent of the conspiracy.
Police are now probing whether Silom had a deeper connection with Sonam and if he played a larger role in the planning of the murder. The SIT continues to piece together evidence, with forensic teams examining the remains of the burned bag for any surviving clues.
According to police sources, Sonam and her lover Raj confessed during interrogation that the pistol, ₹5 lakh in cash, and Raja’s gold jewelry were all stored in the trolley bag. However, when the SIT searched the flat, it appeared untouched, raising suspicions about Silom’s involvement from the outset.
Further investigation revealed that on May 31, an auto driver transported the bag at the request of Vishal, another suspect. The SIT is now working to connect all the dots and bring all culprits to justice.
The Raja Raghuvanshi murder case has taken a dramatic turn with the arrest of property dealer Silom James and the destruction of key evidence. As the investigation continues, more shocking revelations are expected to come to light.
