The Shocking Truth Behind a Marriage Scam in Uttar Pradesh
In the heart of Uttar Pradesh, a shocking tale has emerged that shakes the very foundation of trust in the institution of marriage. What was once considered a sacred bond has now turned into a lucrative scam, leaving families devastated and questioning the sanctity of relationships. This is the story of how a beautiful relationship was turned into a game of deceit, greed, and betrayal.
The Quest for Marriage
Marriage is traditionally viewed as a beautiful union, a celebration of love that binds two families together. However, in recent times, this sacred bond has been tarnished by greed and deception. In a society where marriage is celebrated, it has, unfortunately, become a means for some to exploit the emotions and vulnerabilities of others.
In a small district named Seeker in Uttar Pradesh, lives a family led by Tarachand, who was financially stable but faced a pressing issue: he had two sons, Bhavarlal and Shankarlal, who were struggling to find brides as they were getting older. The pressure to marry was mounting, not just from within the family but also from society, which constantly questioned when the sons would settle down.
Despite their efforts to find suitable matches through relatives and acquaintances, they faced repeated disappointments. In 2024, Tarachand met a man named Bhagat Singh in Jaipur, who claimed to be a respectable farmer from Mathura. During their conversation, Bhagat Singh revealed that he had two daughters, Kajal and Tamanna, who were of marriageable age and both beautiful and cultured.

The Illusion of a Perfect Match
After showing Tarachand pictures of his daughters, Tarachand was convinced and decided that his sons would marry Kajal and Tamanna. However, Bhagat Singh was in a financial bind and requested ₹11 lakh as a loan for the wedding arrangements. Trusting the new relationship, Tarachand readily agreed and provided the money.
On November 26, 2024, a grand wedding ceremony took place at a guest house near Govind Hospital in Jaipur, where the families celebrated the union of their children. For the first couple of days, everything seemed perfect. The newlyweds settled into their new homes, and Tarachand felt relieved to see his sons married.
However, on the third day, everything changed. When the family woke up, they found that both brides had mysteriously vanished. Panic set in as they searched every corner of the house and even the streets outside, but there was no sign of Kajal and Tamanna. Upon checking the valuables, they discovered that all the jewelry, cash, and precious items were missing.
The Unraveling of a Deceitful Scheme
Realizing they had been scammed, Tarachand immediately contacted Bhagat Singh, but his phone was switched off. It became evident that this entire scheme was orchestrated by Bhagat Singh and his family. Enraged and embarrassed, Tarachand and his family reported the matter to the Danta Ramgarh police station, unveiling a shocking truth about the rising trend of marriage scams where unsuspecting families were being robbed by deceitful brides.
The police initiated an investigation, and as they dug deeper, they found out that Kajal’s family had been running a marriage scam for quite some time. Kajal and Tamanna were being used as pawns in this elaborate scheme, targeting vulnerable families looking for brides. The family had successfully scammed numerous families across Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Delhi, amassing a fortune in the process.
The modus operandi was simple yet effective. The sisters would charm the prospective grooms with their beauty and sweet talk, leading them to believe they were genuinely interested in marriage. After a few days of festivities and celebrations, they would vanish with the cash and jewelry, leaving the families in shock and disbelief.
The Police Investigation
As the police continued their investigation, they learned that this family had scammed at least 20 families, accumulating nearly ₹1 crore through their deceitful practices. Many victims hesitated to report the incidents due to embarrassment, allowing the scam to flourish without consequences.
With the help of mobile data and tracking, the police managed to pinpoint the location of Kajal and her family. On December 18, 2024, they arrested Bhagat Singh, his wife Saroj, and their children Tamanna and Suraj in Mathura. However, Kajal had already fled, proving to be a cunning and resourceful individual who was always a step ahead of the law.
Kajal’s family had a pattern of moving from one city to another after each scam to avoid capture. They had fake documents and identification to facilitate their operations, making it difficult for authorities to track them down.
The Capture of Kajal
After a year of searching, the police finally received a lead that led them to a location in Gurugram where a girl resembling Kajal was reported to be living. Acting quickly, the police raided the premises and confirmed their suspicions when they found Kajal there. Surprisingly, she showed no fear of the law or the consequences of her actions; instead, she appeared relaxed and confident.
When questioned, Kajal revealed that her father had turned scamming into a family business, with her and her sister playing crucial roles in luring unsuspecting grooms. They would demand money for wedding preparations, and once they received the funds, they would go through with the wedding and then disappear with the valuables.
The Aftermath
Kajal’s arrest brought the entire family’s operation to light, exposing the dark side of what was once a beautiful tradition. This incident serves as a stark reminder of how greed can corrupt even the most sacred of relationships. The trust that families place in one another has been shattered, leaving behind a trail of heartbreak and betrayal.
As the investigation continues, the authorities are determined to ensure that justice is served. The case has raised awareness about the growing trend of marriage scams, prompting many to be more cautious in their search for life partners.
Conclusion
This story is a chilling reminder that not everything that glitters is gold, especially in matters of the heart. The sanctity of marriage should be preserved, but incidents like these highlight the need for vigilance and awareness in a world where deceit can lurk behind the facade of love.
