Haryana Shocked as Two 15-Year-Old Students Murder School Principal on Guru Purnima, Post Video Threatening More Violence

In a shocking incident that has left the nation stunned, two 15-year-old students from Hisar, Haryana, brutally murdered their school principal on the auspicious day of Guru Purnima—a day traditionally dedicated to honoring teachers. The crime, committed in broad daylight during an exam at school, was not only premeditated but was also brazenly shared on social media, where the accused threatened further violence unless they received a ransom of ₹1 lakh.

The Incident

The blurred video circulating on social media shows the two minors, both students of class 12, whose identities have been concealed due to their age. The murder took place at Kartar Singh Memorial School, where Principal Jagbir Singh was attacked with knives by the students inside a classroom. Despite being rushed to a private hospital, Singh succumbed to his injuries.

According to police, the principal was known for his strict discipline. He would often reprimand students for not cutting their hair, dressing improperly, or indulging in substance abuse. The accused students reportedly disliked this discipline and, along with two other classmates, plotted the murder days in advance. On the day of the attack, two of them entered the classroom with knives and stabbed Jagbir Singh multiple times.

Aftermath and Investigation

After committing the crime, the students fled the scene. CCTV footage helped the police identify four boys involved—two directly in the murder and two others who supplied the weapon and aided the conspiracy. Within hours, police arrested the main accused at a local bus stand. The remaining two are still being questioned.

Disturbingly, the accused posted a video on social media after the murder, warning that they would kill the principal’s younger son if not paid ₹1 lakh. This extortion attempt has raised concerns about the influence of criminal gangs and social media on young minds.

Police and Community Response

Hisar police have confirmed that the principal was targeted because of his efforts to enforce discipline and keep students away from drugs and bad influences. Investigators suspect the boys were influenced by criminal elements and possibly by the glorification of gang culture on social media and in popular music.

The parents of the accused expressed shock and regret, stating they never imagined their children could commit such a crime. The school community and local authorities are now calling for increased counseling and intervention in schools to prevent similar tragedies.

A Broader Social Concern

The incident has reignited debates about the impact of popular culture, music, and social media on impressionable youth. Experts and community leaders are urging schools, parents, and police to work together to provide guidance and counseling to students, emphasizing the importance of discipline and positive role models.

As the investigation continues, the tragic murder of a principal by his own students on a day meant to celebrate teachers serves as a grim reminder of the challenges facing today’s youth and the urgent need for collective action to address them.
