Renowned TV Actress Sumihar Chadhari Found Disoriented, Wandering Streets of Bengal

A shocking and heartbreaking incident has come to light as popular TV and film actress Sumihar Chadhari was found in a disoriented and distressed state, wandering the streets of West Bengal’s Purba Bardhaman district. Chadhari, well known for her work in both television and cinema, was discovered near Amila Bazar on Monday, dressed in dirty clothes and appearing mentally unstable.

According to eyewitnesses and reports by The Indian Express, the actress had sought shelter at a roadside rest stop in the Kandakosh area during a heavy rainstorm. Locals noticed her wearing shorts and a black full-sleeve shirt, carrying only a pen and a notepad, and speaking in a mix of English and Bengali. Initially, residents were unable to identify her, but when she introduced herself as “Sumihar Chadhari, an actress,” curiosity turned to concern. Locals searched her name online and soon confirmed her identity through old photos and videos circulating on the internet.

Authorities were quickly alerted, and Chadhari was later found near the Bardhaman-Arambagh highway before being transferred to a local shelter home for her safety. “We have informed the Behala police station in Kolkata and are trying to contact her family,” stated Abhishek Mandul, DPO of Bardhaman Sadar South.

Sumihar Chadhari is acclaimed for her roles in films such as “Ditto Purush” and “Kashi Kata: A Goat Saga,” where she shared the screen with veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah. She has also starred in notable television shows like “Rup Shagur Manush” and “Tumi Ashapashi Taklay.”

Local sources reported that Chadhari provided conflicting information about her residence—at times claiming she was from Kolkata, and at other times, from Bolpur in Birbhum. The exact reasons behind her current condition remain unclear. Police are now working to trace her family and are conducting assessments of her mental and physical health.

So far, there has been no statement released by her relatives. The incident has left fans and the public deeply concerned about her well-being as authorities continue their investigation.
