A shocking plane crash in Ahmedabad last Thursday claimed the lives of 241 out of 242 people on board, leaving only one survivor. The first video of the tragic incident quickly went viral, but the young man who recorded it soon found himself at the center of a police inquiry.

Aryan, a 17-year-old resident of Meghani Nagar, Ahmedabad, captured footage of the plane crash on his phone. In an interview with a YouTube channel, Aryan revealed that witnessing the accident left him deeply shaken and he never wants to fly on a plane again. According to reports, it was Aryan’s sister who first discovered the video on his phone.

After the video began circulating online, police arrived at Aryan’s home and took him in for questioning. On Saturday afternoon, officers from Gaikwad Haveli Police Station visited Meghani Nagar and brought the minor to the station. Aryan had filmed the crash at 1:39 PM on Thursday and sent the video to his father, who may have shared it further.

Aryan’s sister explained that her brother was visiting the city for the first time from their village. Surprised to see a plane flying so low, Aryan decided to record it on his phone, intending to show his friends back home how close planes flew to their house in Meghani Nagar. She added that Aryan was simply recording a video as usual, but tragically, the plane crashed during his filming. Aryan had never seen a plane so close before.

A neighbor, Shubham Gupta, noted that the Air India plane was flying unusually low and its movements suggested a possible accident. The video was recorded at Omkar Nagar Corner in Meghani Nagar, while the crash occurred at the IGP Compound in the same area. Witnesses described hearing a loud noise and seeing thick smoke in the sky immediately after the crash.

Aryan recounted that he was recording the plane near his rented home, unaware that it would soon turn into a fireball. Within 24 seconds of his recording, the aircraft crashed. Aryan admitted he was terrified by what he witnessed.

Ahmedabad police confirmed that Aryan was questioned about the video but was not arrested for filming. The viral footage was a screen recording from his mobile device. Aryan provided details about the video to the police and later gave a statement as a witness, accompanied by his father, before being allowed to return home.
