Akhilesh Yadav Raises Questions

Yadav pointedly asked why the encounter had taken place just the previous day, implying that there could have been strategic or political motivations behind the timing. He sarcastically suggested whether the operation had been scheduled for a particular Monday in the Hindu month of Sawan, a day considered auspicious by many devotees of Lord Shiva.

Addressing the House, he stated, “Why did the encounter happen only yesterday? Is there some kind of special Monday in Sawan being sought for such operations?”

He went on to reference past terror incidents, including Pulwama, and questioned why vital details—such as the car carrying RDX explosives used in Pulwama—had still not been traced. “If everyone claims to understand all technology and intelligence, then why has the Pulwama vehicle still not been found?” Yadav added.

Prime Minister Modi Responds

Prime Minister Narendra Modi responded strongly, turning the question back on his critics. He ridiculed the suggestion about the Sawan Monday, remarking, “Should we be picking a special Monday in Sawan for dangerous operations now?”

Modi also accused the Congress and the opposition of trying to undermine the government’s anti-terror operations with baseless taunts and negativity. Highlighting the collective support of all political parties at the start of the operation, Modi expressed disappointment at the opposition’s “mockery” and “desperation” over the issue.

“While the entire nation stood together in support, now we see such mockery and strange questions from the opposition. What’s gotten into them?” Modi declared.

He further criticized the Congress for its alleged trivial attitude during previous terror attacks in India, saying their reaction amounted to “shamelessness.” Throughout his speech, Modi targeted both the Congress and the broader opposition, accusing them of politicizing national security matters and undermining the morale of security forces.

Conclusion

The intense exchange has since dominated news headlines and social media discussions, with supporters and critics weighing in from all sides. The questions raised over the timing and transparency of anti-terror operations continue to be a focal point in the ongoing political discourse.
