CCTV Footage Reveals False Accusation in Bone-in-Veg Meal Controversy at Gorakhpur Restaurant

A recent incident at Biryani Bay Restaurant in Shastri Chowk, Gorakhpur, has grabbed headlines after a group of young men created a scene over finding a bone in a vegetarian meal. However, newly surfaced CCTV footage has revealed that the accusation was fabricated.

Last Thursday night, a group of 12-13 people visited the restaurant, with some ordering vegetarian dishes while others chose non-vegetarian. During the meal, one customer suddenly claimed to find a bone in his vegetarian thali and accused the restaurant of offending religious sentiments, especially since the incident occurred during the holy month of Sawan. The claim caused a significant uproar, adding to the restaurant’s controversial history—in a previous incident, similar allegations had also led to viral videos and public outrage.

Restaurant owner Ravikar Singh tried to calm the situation, explaining that vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals are prepared separately, and questioned how a bone could appear in just one plate. Singh further alleged that the group may have been trying to avoid paying their bill by creating unnecessary trouble.

As tensions rose, the police were called to the scene. After reviewing the restaurant’s CCTV footage, authorities discovered that one of the young men had deliberately placed a bone from his friend’s non-vegetarian dish into the vegetarian plate. Police then removed the disruptive group from the premises.

Ravikar Singh later released the CCTV evidence to the public, clarifying that the restaurant, in business for several years, has never intended to hurt anyone’s sentiments. He accused the youths of trying to tarnish the restaurant’s image and announced plans to file a formal complaint with police, seeking legal action against those making false claims.

The incident has sparked outrage online, with many criticizing the youths for their irresponsible behavior and pointing out the importance of surveillance cameras in protecting businesses from false accusations.
