Chaos at Airport as SpiceJet Flight Cancelled After 9-Hour Delay

Passengers of SpiceJet flight SG 447 were left frustrated and angry after a series of delays, followed by a sudden cancellation, turned their travel plans upside down.

The flight, which was originally scheduled to depart at 11:40 AM, was repeatedly delayed throughout the day. As the hours passed, tempers began to flare. “One hour late, one-and-a-half hours late, two hours late—what’s the excuse now? Who will give me back my 12 hours?” exclaimed a furious passenger, echoing the sentiments of many stranded travelers.

After waiting for over nine hours, passengers’ patience finally snapped when they learned that the flight had been cancelled altogether. To make matters worse, many claimed there was no announcement or timely information from the airline about the cancellation. “We were waiting on the plane for takeoff when suddenly we found out the flight had been cancelled. No announcements were made,” complained another passenger.

The delay and eventual cancellation created serious inconveniences for several travelers. Some were heading to Delhi for urgent medical treatment, others were traveling with small children. “I have a two-year-old child and we didn’t get any food,” said one woman. Another passenger shared, “We were going to Delhi for emergency medical care.”

According to passengers, the flight was postponed incrementally—hour by hour—raising hopes that it would eventually depart. However, after waiting nine hours at the airport, they were informed at the last minute of the cancellation, leading to chaos in the terminal.

The situation quickly escalated, with many passengers confronting SpiceJet staff in anger and confusion. Arguments broke out between travelers and airline employees as frustration peaked.

This incident once again brings to light issues of communication and customer service in the aviation sector, leaving many travelers questioning what recourse they have when left stranded for hours with little or no information.
