SP Leaders Protest After Karni Sena Leader Makes Objectionable Remarks Against MP Iqra Hasan; BJP Leaders Remain Silent

Hello and welcome to Satya Khabar. When it comes to women, even today, the situation in our country remains much the same as it was years ago. If a woman tries to progress, there’s still a long line of people eager to hold her back. It would not be wrong to say so.

Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Iqra Hasan has been in the spotlight recently after Thakur Yogendra Rana, National Vice-President of Karni Sena, made highly objectionable and offensive remarks against her. The remarks have sparked widespread condemnation, yet notable silence from leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Several BJP leaders, who are often vocal about women’s security and participation in society, have not issued a single statement in support of Iqra Hasan. In contrast, SP leaders have strongly come out in her support, staging protests and demonstrations.

In Ravindranagar, Kushinagar, SP leaders and party workers held a protest outside the Collectorate, submitting a memorandum to ADM Vaibhav Mishra. Protesters stated that the comments made against Iqra Hasan were indecent and disrespectful, amounting to an insult to both women’s dignity and constitutional values.

They further asserted that Iqra Hasan is an educated and democratically elected parliamentarian, and such comments are an attack on women’s political participation and empowerment. They demanded strict action against the accused.

It’s worth noting that Yogendra Singh Rana of the Karni Sena has not yet been apprehended. He has reportedly switched off his phone and is currently absconding.

SP leaders have warned that if strict action is not taken in this matter, they will escalate their protests in support of Iqra Hasan.
