Deepika Padukone Opens Up About Her Challenging Pregnancy and Journey Into Motherhood

Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone has candidly spoken about the challenges she faced during her pregnancy and delivery, sharing her experiences as a new mom. “I went through a lot of pain and trouble in the 8 to 9 months,” Deepika revealed, admitting that her pregnancy was far from easy. While her daughter’s birth feels recent, the emotional and physical toll of those months was significant.

Deepika reflected on her deep-rooted desire to become a mother, tracing it back to her childhood. “Ever since my sister Anisha was born, my maternal instincts kicked in. Nurturing and protecting come to me very naturally,” she shared. She also emphasized that she didn’t face societal pressure to have a baby; for her, it was always about the right time.

The actress praised her husband Ranveer Singh for his unwavering support and progressive mindset throughout her pregnancy. “He was like, ‘It’s your body. Yes, it’s a decision we make together, but eventually it’s your body that’s going to go through it. So, whenever you feel ready,’” Deepika recounted.

Motherhood has brought a noticeable shift in Deepika’s work-life balance. Currently on maternity leave, she admitted, “I do have to tell myself that your life doesn’t end the minute you have a child.”
