Once again, an aircraft incident has been reported in Bihar.
An Indigo flight from Delhi to Patna faced a serious situation during landing.

Fortunately, all 173 passengers on board are safe.
Thanks to the presence of mind of the pilot, a major disaster was averted.

What happened?

This Indigo aircraft, flight number 62482, was approaching Patna Airport around 9 PM.
During landing, the aircraft failed to properly touch the runway’s designated landing point and began overshooting the runway.

Realizing that the runway might not be sufficient to stop the aircraft safely, the pilot immediately initiated a go‑around—pulling the plane back into the air.

Panic among passengers

As the plane climbed back into the air, confusion and panic spread among passengers.
For about 4–5 minutes, passengers had no idea why the aircraft was circling in the sky instead of landing.
Many feared an emergency on the runway or a technical fault.

The aircraft reportedly made four circles in the air before the pilot attempted a second landing.

Why did this happen?

Patna Airport is known for having a short runway.
The pilot assessed that the aircraft would not stop in time and therefore chose to go around and make another landing attempt.

The cabin crew later reassured passengers:

“There is no emergency. Due to technical reasons, the pilot has taken off again. We will be landing safely in about 4–5 minutes.”

Safe landing

After four circles, the aircraft finally landed safely.
All 173 passengers were safely evacuated from the plane, and no injuries were reported.

This incident once again highlights both the challenges of operating at airports with shorter runways and the critical role of a pilot’s quick decision-making in ensuring passenger safety.
