After Lalu Prasad Yadav’s son Tej Pratap, now daughter Rohini Acharya has made headlines by announcing her retirement from politics and distancing herself from her family through a dramatic social media post.

In her post, Rohini Acharya stated, “I take all the blame upon myself.” She mentioned Sanjay Yadav and Rameez Nemat Khan in her message, saying, “I am leaving politics and also cutting ties with my family. I am doing exactly what Sanjay Yadav and Rameez have asked me to do. I take all responsibility on myself.”

Rohini Acharya is the second child among RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s nine children, following his eldest daughter Misa Bharti. Born on June 1, 1979, in Patna, Rohini is 43 years old. Contrary to popular belief, her surname “Acharya” was not adopted after marriage but was given to her during her studies. After completing her schooling, she pursued medicine and earned her MBBS from MGM Medical College, Jamshedpur, though she never practiced professionally as a doctor.

On May 24, 2002, Rohini married Samare Singh, who works in the IT sector in Singapore. Rohini played an active role in politics and contested the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from the Saran constituency as an RJD candidate. According to her affidavit, her total assets amount to ₹15.81 crore, with ₹2.99 crore in movable assets and ₹12.82 crore in immovable assets. Beyond politics, Rohini has been personally significant to her family, notably donating a kidney to her father Lalu Prasad Yadav—a gesture that gained national attention.

Who is Sanjay Yadav? Sanjay hails from Mahendragarh, Haryana, and has always been academically gifted. He holds an MSc in Computer Science and an MBA, which has made him a strong strategist in management, data analysis, and planning. Before joining politics, he worked in a private company. His Haryanvi accent is evident in his speech, but his influence in Bihar politics is substantial. Sanjay and Tejashwi Yadav’s friendship began in Delhi, reportedly through playing cricket together. Around 2012, Tejashwi started relying on Sanjay for political advice, leading Sanjay to quit his job and join RJD full-time. Since the 2015 Bihar elections, he has become Tejashwi’s most trusted strategist and is often referred to as his right hand. In 2024, RJD recognized his importance by sending him to the Rajya Sabha. Sanjay played a crucial role in the 2025 assembly elections, impacting RJD’s election strategy, seat sharing, social media campaigns, and ticket distribution, though this also led to internal party dissent.

Who is Rameez Nemat Khan? Rameez is originally from Balrampur, Uttar Pradesh, and joined RJD in 2016. He initially worked behind the scenes in the Deputy CM’s office before moving to Tejashwi’s office, where he manages Tejashwi’s daily routine and campaign activities. Like Sanjay, Rameez is also a cricket-era friend of Tejashwi.
