Manish Kashyap Calls for United Efforts for Bihar’s Progress at National Youth Forum
Renowned journalist Manish Kashyap, celebrated for his fearless reporting on corruption and social issues, was recently honored at a major youth gathering. Welcomed with thunderous applause, Kashyap took the stage and made an impassioned appeal for collective action towards the development of Bihar and the entire nation.
Addressing an audience packed with young people and notable dignitaries, Kashyap began by expressing his deep gratitude to the organizers, including Sandeep Yadav, for recognizing his commitment to voicing the truth and bringing ground realities to light. He stressed the importance of youth participation in the progress of India, noting, “Young people are present in every village, every institution, every corner of the country. When it comes to the nation’s development, every young Indian must unite for the cause.”
Kashyap articulated a vision for India as a global leader—or “Vishwaguru”—but emphasized that true progress would only be achieved when states like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, and the Northeast advance collectively. He remarked, “Despite the sincere efforts of every government and Prime Minister, Bihar still lags behind. Today, Bihar faces severe floods, unemployment, and mass migration. For this, no single leader or government is to blame—it is a challenge that requires the unified effort of all.”
Specifically addressing the current flood crisis in Bihar, Kashyap urged everyone to use both social media and on-ground efforts to bring attention and relief to the state. He lamented that, despite Bihar’s contributions to the nation—producing the country’s highest numbers of IAS and IPS officers, intellectuals, and political leaders—the state is often forgotten in conversations about development.
Highlighting Bihar’s rich cultural and historical heritage, from the era of Chandragupta Maurya and Chanakya to being the birthplace of Sita and center of ancient learning, Kashyap recalled how the state was once synonymous with pride and knowledge. However, he acknowledged the present struggles, urging the nation to “look at Bihar”—to recognize both its strengths and its suffering, and to extend support for its revival.
Kashyap also discussed the unfair stereotype of Biharis as laborers, noting that while workers from several states, and even from Bangladesh, come to India for work, the word “Bihari” has unjustly become a byword for labor. “Why don’t people remember the word ‘Bihari’ for IAS and IPS officers, where we have always excelled?” he asked, calling for an end to such bias.
Praising the contributions of every past and present Prime Minister and Chief Minister, he insisted that Bihar’s prosperity must be integral to India’s growth story. “Until Bihar is developed, imagining a truly developed India is not possible. We have always contributed and shown love to the nation’s leaders—now, show some love to Bihar and see how, before 2047, India could become the most developed nation in the world.”
Kashyap called upon political parties to provide greater opportunities and representation to youth, especially those from non-political backgrounds. “Whether behind the camera or waiting behind the scenes, whether on stage or out on the streets—today’s youth deserve a role in nation-building, and it is the duty of every party to ensure this.”
He concluded by charging the youth and leaders alike with a single message: “The fight for development is a collective one. While political battles can be fought at election time, let us all come together for the sake of India and its youth. If any of my words have unintentionally hurt anyone, I apologize. But remember Bihar, and let’s strive for a brighter future together. Jai Hind, Jai Bihar.”
