Notorious 20-Year-Old Gangster Romil Bohra Killed in Haryana STF Encounter
Romil Bohra, a notorious gangster with a bounty of ₹2 lakh on his head and accused in four murders within just eight months, met a violent end on Tuesday after being shot dead by Haryana’s Special Task Force (STF) near the Delhi-Haryana border in Gurugram.
Despite his innocent appearance and being only 20 years old, Romil had quickly climbed the ranks of the criminal underworld. His name became synonymous with fear in Haryana and surrounding regions, as he became involved with the infamous Lawrence Bishnoi gang through the Kala Rana and Noni Rana syndicate. Romil joined the gang just eight months ago, but his criminal record grew rapidly, earning him notoriety and a police reward.
Romil was wanted for several heinous crimes, including the recent murder of Shantanu, a liquor contractor in Kurukshetra, and a triple murder in Yamunanagar. According to Ambala STF DSP Aman Kumar, Romil had long been on the police radar and was actively being sought for his involvement in multiple criminal cases.
Acting on a tip-off, the Haryana STF learned that Romil was hiding near the Faridabad Link Road at the Haryana-Delhi border. The STF quickly cordoned off the area and launched an operation to apprehend him. As the STF closed in, Romil opened fire on the police, triggering a fierce gun battle. In the exchange, Romil sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared dead by doctors.
Two STF sub-inspectors, Praveen and Rohan, were also injured during the encounter and are currently reported to be in stable condition. The police have not disclosed the exact nature of their injuries.
Romil, a BA student, had already committed several serious crimes, including murder, robbery, and extortion at a very young age. His rapid rise in the criminal world brought him into close contact with top gangsters, and his violent streak made him a key shooter for the Kala Rana and Noni Rana gang, both linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi syndicate.
Due to his escalating criminal activities, the police had announced a reward of ₹2 lakh for information leading to his capture. In just eight months, Romil was allegedly involved in four murders, making him one of the most wanted criminals in the region.
With the death of Romil Bohra, another chapter in Haryana’s gangland violence has come to a close.
