Renuka Devi Balu, Wife of Senior DMK Leader TR Balu, Passes Away at 79

A wave of mourning has swept through Tamil Nadu’s political circles following the passing of Renuka Devi Balu, wife of prominent DMK leader TR Balu and mother of Tamil Nadu Industries Minister Dr. TRB Raja. Renuka Devi Balu passed away on August 19, 2025, at the age of 79.

Renuka Devi Balu had been battling a serious illness for the past eight months and was receiving treatment at a private hospital in Chennai. Despite the best efforts of her family and doctors, her condition continued to deteriorate over the past several months. She breathed her last on the morning of August 19, 2025.

Her passing has deeply affected not only her family but also DMK leaders, supporters, and the people of Tamil Nadu, who remember her for the immense contributions and support she extended to society and the nation throughout her life.

According to family sources, the funeral rites for Renuka Devi Balu will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at 6:00 PM in Chennai.
