Rewari, Haryana – In a shocking case, Rewari police have arrested a female teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with a minor Class 12 student. The accused was presented in Rewari court and has been sent to judicial custody.
The Allegations
The case came to light after the student’s father filed a complaint at the Dharuhera police station. According to the investigating officer, the student, a resident of the Dharuhera area, was studying in Class 12 at a reputed private school in Gurugram. The accused, a 40-year-old teacher from Charkhi Dadri, was his class teacher.
It is alleged that the teacher lured the student with promises of good marks and called him to her house under various pretexts, even during school holidays in June 2024. There, she allegedly initiated inappropriate contact, which eventually led to a sexual relationship. The teacher reportedly continued to meet the student at her home and in hotels, sometimes checking in as a family member to avoid suspicion due to the student’s minor status.
Escalation and Complaint
Initially, the student kept the matter hidden from his family, but eventually, he confided in his father, revealing that the teacher forced him into sexual acts and repeatedly called him to hotels and her home. Following this, the father approached the police and submitted a formal complaint.
Legal Proceedings
Police registered a case under the POCSO Act and began their investigation. The teacher, who is married, allegedly called the student to her house when her husband was at work. After a dispute with her husband, she started living separately and increased her meetings with the student.
When the student began resisting, the teacher allegedly tried to protect herself by filing a false molestation complaint against him on January 20, 2025. The student was granted anticipatory bail, after which he decided to expose the truth. He showed his family videos as evidence of the teacher’s actions.
On March 13, 2025, the police registered a case against the teacher, and the student’s father submitted the video evidence. The teacher applied for anticipatory bail in Rewari Fast Track Court on March 21, 2025, but later withdrew her application and went absconding. She applied again on May 7, 2025, but her plea was rejected on May 14. She then approached the Punjab and Haryana High Court, but her bail was again rejected on June 20, 2025, by Judge Sandeep Maudgil.
Arrest and Judicial Custody
Following the rejection of her bail plea, police arrested the teacher. She was produced in court on Saturday and has been sent to judicial custody.
This case has raised serious concerns about student safety and the abuse of power by educators. The investigation is ongoing, and police have assured strict action as per the law.
