Bad News for Dipika Kakar: Actress Undergoes 14-Hour Surgery for Stage 2 Liver Cancer, Now in ICU

Mumbai: Popular television actress Dipika Kakar is currently recuperating in the ICU of a Mumbai hospital after undergoing a marathon 14-hour surgery for stage 2 liver cancer. Her husband, Shoaib Ibrahim, has requested fans to pray for her speedy recovery.

On Tuesday, Dipika underwent the lengthy surgery, and since then, she has been kept under close observation in the Intensive Care Unit. Shoaib Ibrahim shared an emotional update on his Instagram stories, apologizing for not being able to update fans earlier due to the long duration of the surgery.

“Hi everyone, sorry I couldn’t update you last night. It was a long surgery. She was in the OT for 14 hours. Dipika is currently in the ICU. She is in some pain, but she is stable. Please pray for Dipika. She is still in the ICU. I will update you all once she is out of the ICU. Thank you once again. Keep praying for her,” Shoaib wrote.

Earlier, Shoaib had informed fans about Dipika’s scheduled surgery and revealed that it would be a long and challenging procedure. “Dipika’s surgery is scheduled to happen tomorrow morning. It’s going to be a long surgery. She needs all your prayers and strength the most,” he had said.

Dipika was diagnosed with stage 2 liver cancer last week, shortly after she reported persistent stomach pain in May. Her scheduled surgery was initially delayed due to a sudden high fever, but it was eventually carried out on Tuesday.

Dipika’s sister-in-law also shared an emotional update, revealing that she broke down in tears upon hearing the diagnosis, expressing the family’s shock and concern over the situation.

Fans and well-wishers from across the country are sending prayers and support to Dipika and her family during this difficult time.
