14-Year-Old Boy Dies by Suicide in Kandivali High-Rise; Separate Case Involves Builder Harassment

A 14-year-old boy allegedly died by suicide on Wednesday evening in a high-rise residential building in Kandivali. The incident occurred around 6:00 p.m. in an apartment complex that is also home to a well-known actress from Gujarati and Hindi television serials.

According to police, the class 9 student had a disagreement with his mother over attending tuition classes. The boy was reportedly reluctant to go for tuition, leading to an argument with his mother earlier that day. Later, other residents of the building alerted his mother about the tragic incident.

Police officials stated that no foul play is suspected at this stage. An accidental death report has been registered, and further investigation is underway. Authorities may question the boy’s friends from school and tuition classes to better understand his mental state in recent days. Police are also likely to inquire why the boy was trying to avoid tuition classes.

In an unrelated incident, a 64-year-old builder from Nala Sopara reportedly died by suicide after alleged harassment by moneylenders and policemen. The builder had taken a loan of ₹32 lakh from a moneylender. His family claimed that two police constables had repeatedly pressured and harassed him to repay the amount.

Both cases are currently under investigation, with police registering accidental death reports and continuing their inquiries.
