Sanjay Kapur, ex-husband of Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor, was cremated at the Lodhi Road Crematorium in Delhi, eight days after his passing. The Kapoor family, along with close friends, gathered to say their final goodbyes with tearful eyes. The last rites were performed at the electric crematorium, with Sanjay’s elder children, Samaira and Kiaan, conducting the rituals.

Karisma Kapoor, draped in white, remained by Sanjay’s side till the very end, taking responsibility for the final rites. Sanjay’s current wife, Priya Sachdev, was visibly silent and grief-stricken, left alone after her husband’s demise. Their seven-year-old son, Zarius, was also present during the funeral.

Sanjay Kapur passed away on June 12 in England during a polo match. Initially, it was reported that he died of a heart attack. However, later reports suggested that Sanjay accidentally swallowed a bee while playing polo, which led to a sudden deterioration in his health and eventually resulted in a fatal heart attack.

On the day of the funeral, Karisma Kapoor, along with her children Samaira and Kiaan, stayed close to Sanjay’s body, not leaving his side even for a moment. The grief of losing their father was evident on their faces, as if they were still unable to believe he was gone.

Karisma’s sister, Kareena Kapoor, and her husband, Saif Ali Khan, were also present, fulfilling all their responsibilities and supporting Karisma throughout the ceremony. Sanjay’s close friend, Kalyani Shah, attended the funeral as well. She later shared an emotional post, remembering Sanjay as a wonderful father who wanted to live a hundred years for his children, but fate had other plans as he left the world at just 53.
