Shefali Jariwala’s Sudden Death Raises Questions About Industry’s Use of Medication
The untimely death of Shefali Jariwala has raised several questions, the most prominent being whether people in the entertainment industry are putting their health at risk by using various medications to maintain their appearance and youth. Many are wondering if similar circumstances have contributed to previous sudden celebrity deaths.
What Happened on the Night of June 27?
On the night of June 27, Shefali Jariwala, fondly known as the “Kaanta Laga Girl,” passed away unexpectedly. One significant detail that has come to light in this case is the use of anti-aging injections. At 42, Shefali had reportedly been receiving such treatments for several years.

Immediately after her death, police and forensic teams arrived at her residence, and her autopsy was conducted at Cooper Hospital. While some key information from the postmortem has emerged, the final report was expected to be handed over today (Monday).
According to NDTV, at around 9:45 PM on June 27, Shefali returned home on a bike with her husband, actor Parag Tyagi. About half an hour later, at 10:15 PM, a car left the building—this was the vehicle in which Shefali was taken to the hospital. It is believed that the critical incident occurred within this half-hour window.
During this time, Shefali had dinner, after which her blood pressure dropped significantly. This sudden drop led to cardiac arrest. At around 10:30 PM, Shefali was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where doctors declared her dead at 11:00 PM. Her body was then sent to Cooper Hospital for autopsy. At 1:00 AM, Mumbai Police were informed of her sudden death, and by 1:30 AM, police and forensic teams had reached Shefali and Parag’s home.
Friends stated that Shefali suffered a cardiac arrest. Her funeral took place in Mumbai on June 28, and her ashes were immersed on June 29.
Initial Police Findings and Religious Observances
According to reports from E-Times, initial police investigations suggest that Shefali’s death was caused by an extreme drop in blood pressure. On the day of her death, Shefali had organized a Satyanarayan puja at her home, which her parents also attended. She was reportedly fasting for the religious ceremony. It was also noted that Shefali had recently visited the Mahakal temple and was actively involved in religious activities, whether it was performing puja at home, participating in Ganpati Visarjan, or visiting temples.
Parag Tyagi told police that Shefali had eaten refrigerated food, after which she suddenly felt unwell and fainted. She was then taken to the hospital.
The exact cause of Shefali Jariwala’s death is expected to be confirmed soon, as the final postmortem report is set to be released today.
