Television and Marathi Actress Priya Marathe Passes Away, Leaving Behind Unfulfilled Wishes

Priya Marathe, a renowned television and Marathi actress, passed away on August 31 after a long battle with cancer. Despite 13 years of marriage, Priya was unable to fulfill her heartfelt wish of becoming a mother. Her love story with husband Shantanu Moghe was nothing short of a fairytale, but fate had other plans.

Priya fought cancer bravely for nearly two and a half years. At one point, it seemed she might overcome the disease, but a relapse proved fatal, and she breathed her last on August 31. That evening, she was laid to rest, dressed as a bride, symbolizing her final farewell to this world.

Priya leaves behind her grieving husband, Shantanu, who is struggling to cope with the loss. According to media reports, Shantanu is deeply shocked and unable to come to terms with Priya’s untimely demise. The couple, despite their strong bond and deep love, could not start a family, and Priya departed this world childless, leaving Shantanu completely alone.

Priya’s passing has brought her and Shantanu’s love story back into the spotlight. Priya became a household name playing Varsha Deshpande, Archana’s younger sister, in the popular TV show “Pavitra Rishta.” Shantanu Moghe is also a well-known actor in Marathi cinema, and his father, Shrikant Moghe, was a respected Marathi actor and theatre artist.

Priya and Shantanu’s relationship was as beautiful as their love story. They first met at a party hosted by a mutual friend while both were struggling in the industry. Their friendship quickly blossomed into love, and in a cinematic proposal in 2012, Shantanu asked Priya to marry him. She accepted without hesitation, and the couple tied the knot on April 24, 2012.

Their love was evident, with Priya often sharing pictures of the two on Instagram, showcasing their chemistry. However, tragedy struck when Priya was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago, drastically changing their lives forever.

After Priya’s death, her co-star Usha Nadkarni revealed in an interview that she wanted to meet Priya one last time. However, Shantanu declined, as Priya had lost all her hair due to chemotherapy and did not want anyone to see her in that condition.

Priya Marathe’s departure has left a void in the hearts of her loved ones and fans. Her story is a poignant reminder of life’s unpredictability and the strength of love and resilience.
