Tragic Murder in Madhubani: Father K*lled Over Love Marriage

Pandol, Madhubani: A youth’s decision for a love marriage proved to be a costly affair in Pandol, Madhubani district, as his father was shot dead allegedly by his lover’s brother. The shocking incident took place on Monday night around 10 PM in Brahmotra village under Pandol police station limits.

According to sources, Pankaj Kumar Mandal had been in a relationship with Lakshmi, the sister of neighbor Gautam Thakur. The lovers eloped and got married in a temple, a step that was not well received by Lakshmi’s family. Pankaj revealed, “After our marriage, I started receiving threats and abusive calls regarding my family, especially about my father.”

On the night of the incident, the accused Gautam Thakur, allegedly entered Pankaj’s house and shot his father, Santosh Mandal, in the chest. The family rushed Santosh to Madhubani Sadar Hospital, but he sadly succumbed to his injuries.

Upon receiving information, Pandol police station in-charge Nadeem reached the village. The police took custody of the body, conducted a post-mortem, and handed it over to the family. The entire village of Brahmotra has been in mourning since the tragedy, while the police have launched a manhunt in search of the main accused, Gautam Thakur.

Pankaj alleged, “Gautam Thakur, my brother-in-law, is the main culprit, along with a few others. He is known for his criminal activities, including theft and robbery. I have evidence and can prove all his crimes if the police investigate.”

Victim Families Demand Justice

The victim’s family, still in shock, have demanded prompt and strict action against all involved. The police have assured them of a thorough search and immediate action.
