Gurugram, Haryana – In a devastating accident that shook dozens of lives, a Rajasthan Roadways bus traveling from Delhi’s Sarai Kale Khan to Sikar overturned near Bilaspur Chowk in Gurugram early this morning. The accident occurred when the bus collided with a Wagon R car coming from the wrong side of the road.

The Incident

As the sun rose and people began their daily routines, tragedy struck near Bilaspur Chowk. The collision was so intense that the bus flipped over the divider and skidded a considerable distance. The bus, carrying 34 passengers, was filled with screams and chaos. Many passengers were bleeding, some were unconscious, and others were in shock, unsure if they were even alive.

Among the injured was Delhi Police Head Constable Ashok Kumar Yadav, who was likely on a routine journey. Fate, however, had other plans. He was rushed to Fortis Hospital in Gurugram in critical condition, where doctors declared him dead. Although he was not on duty at the time, the loss of an officer always deeply impacts the entire system.

Aftermath and Rescue

The bus conductor’s mother, Bhanwarlal, expressed her grief and anger, stating that the car driver not only broke traffic rules but also fled the scene instead of helping the injured. Neither the wounded bus driver, Banwari Lal, nor the bleeding passengers received immediate help from the car driver, raising questions about humanity in such situations.

Eight-year-old Anshu Kumar, one of the injured passengers, is currently on a ventilator with a severe head injury. Doctors at Prakash Hospital are doing everything possible to save his life, while his parents wait outside in tears, each passing moment feeling like an eternity.

Other injured passengers include Vinod Kumar, Monika, and Harish. Harish was discharged after receiving first aid, while the others remain under treatment. The bus driver, Banwari Lal, suffered injuries to his back and knee and was visibly shaken by the accident.

Eyewitness Accounts and Police Response

Eyewitnesses described scenes of panic and chaos following the accident. Some passersby helped rescue passengers from the overturned bus. By the time ambulances arrived, several passengers were unconscious. Police and local authorities responded swiftly, but by then, one life had already been lost and a child was fighting for survival. Traffic was disrupted for a short period until a crane removed the bus and car, after which normalcy was restored.

A Stark Reminder

This tragic incident is yet another reminder that ignoring traffic rules is not just a violation—it can destroy lives. One head constable will never return home, a young child is battling between life and death, and dozens of others are left traumatized by the horror of that morning.
