Tragic Suicide of Magan: Family Alleges Harassment and Extortion by Wife and Her Friend

A shocking case has emerged from Rohtak, where a man named Magan allegedly died by suicide after facing severe mental harassment and extortion, reportedly at the hands of his wife Divya and her friend Deepak, who is said to be a police officer in Sambhaji Nagar, Maharashtra.

Discovery and Search Efforts

According to family members, the first indication of trouble came when Magan sent a video to his sister, prompting concern among relatives. The family immediately began searching for him, even as heavy rain hampered their efforts. Magan had also posted a video in a youth group, which led a local boy to inform the family about his distress.

Despite multiple searches in the area where Magan was last seen, thick bushes and difficult terrain delayed the discovery of his body. Eventually, with the help of location data and tips, the family found that Magan had hanged himself in a field on the night of the 18th.

The Disturbing Video Confession

In a video recorded before his death, Magan made several serious allegations. He claimed that Divya and Deepak were pressuring him to kill his own father so that he could inherit land, sell it, and use the money to buy property in Mumbai. Magan also accused them of repeatedly demanding large sums of money—reportedly up to 5 lakh rupees for Deepak’s promotion and other expenses.

Magan detailed how he had already paid significant amounts by selling his wheat crop and pawning jewelry. Bank transaction records showed money transfers to Divya’s account, which were later moved to Deepak’s account. Magan expressed feeling completely trapped and mentally disturbed by the relentless pressure and threats from the duo.

Police Investigation and Family Demands

The family has filed an FIR against both Divya and Deepak, demanding strict action and justice. They insist that both should be charged with abetment to suicide and face the harshest punishment possible. Police officials confirmed that investigations are ongoing, including a review of financial transactions and efforts to locate Divya and Deepak, who is believed to be serving in the police force in Maharashtra.

Authorities are also probing the nature of Divya’s relationship with Magan and her previous marriages. Divya’s family claims to have severed all ties with her after her marriage to Magan, stating they have no further involvement.

Magan’s Final Plea

In his emotional video, Magan pleaded with local authorities, including the SHO of Bahu police station and the Rohtak SP, to ensure that his wife and her friend are punished. He also requested that his child be cared for by his parents, expressing deep concern for his family’s future.

Magan’s sister, Savita Arya, a noted women’s rights activist from Panipat, lamented that while women can often clear their names, men sometimes have to pay with their lives to prove their innocence. The family has called for a thorough investigation and justice for Magan.
