Veteran Bollywood Actor and Director Govardhan Asrani Passes Away at 84
Renowned Hindi cinema actor and director Govardhan Asrani has passed away. On Monday, October 20, Asrani breathed his last at the age of 84 at Arogya Nidhi Hospital in Juhu, Mumbai. He had been battling a lung disease for some time and was hospitalized for the past five days. Despite doctors’ best efforts, Asrani bid farewell to the world.
According to ANI, his last rites were performed peacefully at Shastri Nagar crematorium in Santa Cruz, Mumbai, in the presence of family members and close friends. The funeral was conducted quietly, honoring Asrani’s final wish that there be no commotion or crowd after his passing. He had previously requested his wife, Manju Asrani, not to inform anyone about his death. Respecting his wishes, the family held the ceremony without any formal announcement.
Images from the crematorium showed his family members visibly emotional. Throughout his life, Asrani’s simplicity and humble nature set him apart from other artists. Just as he brought smiles to countless faces during his career, he chose a peaceful and quiet farewell for himself.
