Despite a companion continuously urging them to come down from the perilous peak, the boys disregard his advice and persist in their attempts to capture the perfect photo. In the video, one can be heard saying, “Come on, brother, I’m scared,” while others respond with encouragement to stay for the sake of a good photo.

The person operating the camera can be heard warning, “It’s just 12 feet, not much,” as he tries to persuade his friends to step back to safety, but his cautions go unheeded.

The viral video has sparked concern on social media about the increasing trend of risking lives for selfies, especially among the youth. The authorities have urged tourists and locals alike to be more careful, emphasizing that one reckless moment for a photo could cost a life.

The location, Dholkal Ganesh, is a historic and popular pilgrimage spot, famous for its ancient Ganesh idol perched at the summit. However, this incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers that come with adventurous but careless behaviour during visits to such treacherous sites.
