A shocking incident has come to light from Barokhar Taluka in Badaun district, Uttar Pradesh, where a wife allegedly tried to kill her husband by pushing him into the Krishna River while pretending to take a selfie. On July 11, a man named Tapaiya went to bring his wife, Gadma, back from her parental home. The couple was returning on a bike when Gadma asked her husband to stop near the Gurjepur Bridge, which crosses the Krishna River, saying she wanted to take a photo. As Tapaiya turned towards the river to pose for the picture, his wife suddenly pushed him from behind, causing him to fall straight into the river.

Despite the terrifying situation, Tapaiya did not give up. He managed to grab onto a rock in the middle of the river and started shouting for help. Hearing his cries, local residents rushed to the spot and threw a rope to pull him out. Surprisingly, Gadma remained at the scene and made no attempt to save her husband. She reportedly wanted it to appear as if Tapaiya had accidentally fallen into the river while taking a selfie.

However, when Tapaiya survived and the video of the incident went viral, the entire conspiracy was exposed. Tapaiya, a resident of MCC Labour Colony, Nagappa Katra, Shakti Nagar, revealed that he married Gadma on April 18, 2025. During Muharram, Gadma had gone to her parental home, and Tapaiya had gone to bring her back.

Tapaiya has filed a police complaint, submitting CCTV footage, photos, and the contact numbers of the people who rescued him. He stated, “Now I understand that my wife does not want to live with me. She deliberately tried to kill me. That’s why I have left her at her parental home and am now seeking legal help.”

This incident is not an isolated case but serves as a warning that betrayal can happen anytime, anywhere. Whether it be the case of Sonam Raghuvanshi or Muskan from Meerut, now the names of Gadma and Tapaiya have also been added to this list.
