Tej Pratap Yadav Opens Up: Relationship with Tejashwi, Family Dynamics, and Life Beyond Politics
In a candid and wide-ranging interview, Tej Pratap Yadav, a prominent political figure in Bihar and the elder son of Lalu Prasad Yadav, shared insights into his relationship with his brother Tejashwi Yadav, his political journey, family bonds, and his personal interests that go beyond the realm of politics. As Bihar prepares for the upcoming elections, these revelations offer a closer look at the man behind the headlines.
No Feud with Tejashwi: “He Respects Me as an Elder Brother”
Addressing the oft-discussed topic of sibling rivalry, Tej Pratap was clear and composed. “Tejashwi has never been my enemy, nor do I want any enmity with him. If someone chooses to be my enemy, that’s their decision, but Tejashwi is not among them.” He emphasized that Tejashwi always respects him as an elder brother and treats him with love and honor. “As an elder brother, I bless him and want to see him as the Chief Minister of Bihar,” Tej Pratap stated, dismissing rumors of discord.
When asked about his own role if Tejashwi becomes Chief Minister, Tej Pratap replied with humility, likening himself to the squirrel in the Ramayana who contributed, however small, to Lord Ram’s bridge across the sea. “Even the smallest effort counts. I am ready to play any role required for the greater good.”
On Kanhaiya Kumar and Political Competition
The interview also touched upon Kanhaiya Kumar, another young political leader making waves. Tej Pratap was unfazed by the competition. “Why should I be afraid of Kanhaiya Kumar? He’s a young and sharp leader, but everyone has their own path. He didn’t get a ticket from Begusarai, so he went to Delhi. That’s his choice.” Tej Pratap humorously added, “I don’t fear ghosts or spirits. In fact, Mahadev’s devotees know that ghosts and spirits dance around Lord Shiva!”
Family Ties: Closest Bonds and Lessons from Lalu Prasad Yadav
Tej Pratap spoke warmly about his family, especially his parents and siblings. When asked who he is closest to, he responded, “Both my parents are close to me and my brother. My mother perhaps has a special bond with me, but my father, Lalu Prasad Yadav, is my political guru. Whatever I am today is because of him. I have learned by following his example.”
He acknowledged that, like the legendary Eklavya, he has learned much from his father, even if sometimes it meant making sacrifices for the greater good. “My father taught me everything, and I continue to follow in his footsteps.”
Viral Moments and Social Media Persona
Tej Pratap is known for his vibrant personality, often making headlines for his unconventional antics. One such moment was when a video of him asking a police officer to dance during Holi went viral. He clarified, “It was all in good fun. The officer was my bodyguard and wanted to dance. There was no intimidation, just celebration.”
He also addressed rumors and criticism, attributing much of it to political opponents and detractors. “People spread all kinds of rumors, but I focus on my work and what makes me happy.”
Bollywood Aspirations and Favorite Actress
Interestingly, Tej Pratap’s interests extend beyond politics. He is a regular on Instagram, creating viral reels and even dabbling in vlogging. “I enjoy making reels and editing them myself. It’s a creative outlet for me,” he shared.
When asked about his favorite Bollywood actress, he revealed, “Kangana Ranaut is my favorite. She’s bold and talented.” He laughed, saying that naming his favorite might cause a stir, but he admired Kangana’s work and her fearless attitude.
Looking Ahead: Politics, Family, and Self-Expression
As Bihar gears up for elections, Tej Pratap’s interview paints a picture of a man deeply rooted in family values, respectful of his brother’s ambitions, and unafraid to express himself both politically and personally. He remains committed to supporting his family, contributing to politics in whatever way he can, and pursuing his interests with enthusiasm.
In a political landscape often marked by rivalry and controversy, Tej Pratap Yadav’s words offer a refreshing perspective on unity, humility, and the importance of staying true to oneself—qualities that resonate far beyond the boundaries of Bihar.
