Noida Police Issues ₹68,500 Fine in Saurabh Yadav Hit-and-Run Case; Victim’s Family Awaits Justice

Noida: In a recent development in the Saurabh Yadav hit-and-run case, Noida Traffic Police have imposed a fine of ₹68,500 on the owner of the Thar vehicle involved in the incident. The case has gained widespread attention after a video showing the Thar SUV speeding and violating traffic rules before hitting Saurabh Yadav went viral on social media.

According to the viral footage, the Thar was seen driving recklessly and eventually struck Saurabh with great force. Taking swift action, the traffic police fined the vehicle’s owner and have since recovered the Thar involved in the accident.

Despite the recovery of the vehicle, the main accused remain absconding. The incident has also led to the suspension of the SHO and the local police post in-charge for negligence in handling the case.

Sumit Yadav, Saurabh’s younger brother and the person who recorded the video, spoke about the ordeal. He revealed that before the collision, a group of 20-25 youths attacked them with sticks and bricks. The brothers tried to escape but were chased by the assailants. First, a Kia Seltos attempted to block their way, followed by the Thar, which directly rammed into Saurabh. After the attack, the assailants dragged the brothers to a nearby Bharat Gas agency and continued their assault.

Sumit stated that he had handed over all video evidence to the police, but initially, no serious action was taken, which likely led to the suspension of the responsible officers. He expressed hope that, following intervention by CP Laxmi Singh, the case is now being treated with urgency, and he has been assured that police will take strict action within 24 hours.

Sumit also clarified that neither he nor Saurabh had any prior dispute or exchanged any inflammatory messages with the attackers, contradicting rumors of an online altercation. He further identified some of the attackers as Akash Amana, Gaurav Chauhan, Kunal Chauhan, and Monty Vaisoya, while others remain unidentified.

The incident has left Saurabh seriously injured, and the family demands swift justice and the arrest of all accused. As of now, the police have recovered the Thar vehicle, but the perpetrators are still at large.

Sumit concluded by urging authorities to take the strictest possible action, emphasizing that they had no intention of confrontation and were victims of a premeditated attack.
