The incident took place in Sarawa village under Nagar Kotwali police station limits. Salman, a resident of the village, had married a young woman from Loni, Ghaziabad on April 25. For nearly 50 days after the wedding, everything seemed normal. The bride, Sana, had blended in well with her new family, winning their trust and affection.

However, on Friday night around 10 PM, Sana served lassi (a traditional yogurt drink) to all her in-laws. Unbeknownst to them, the drink was laced with sedatives. Within minutes, the entire family had fallen into a deep sleep. Seizing the opportunity, Sana gathered all the jewelry and cash from the house and slipped away into the night with her lover, Suhail, who was waiting outside on a motorcycle.

The daring escape was caught on a nearby CCTV camera. By the time the family awoke the next morning, the bride and all the valuables were gone. Shocked and devastated, Salman immediately filed a police complaint.

According to City CO Jitendra Sharma, investigations revealed that Sana had been in a relationship with Suhail, an AC repairman from Loni, even before her marriage. Suhail had recently visited the house under the pretext of showing a sewing machine, which rekindled their contact. On the night of the incident, Sana left her marital home at 1:30 AM, riding away with Suhail.

Thanks to swift police action and CCTV evidence, Sana was soon tracked down and taken into custody. Legal proceedings are now underway.

This incident has left the local community stunned, highlighting a growing trend of betrayal and crime within marriages. As the investigation continues, the family hopes for the return of their belongings and justice for their ordeal.
