Tragic Details of the Incident

On Sunday afternoon, Nupur ingested Sulphos tablets while recording a live video message. In her final words, she accused her husband Satish Jat, mother-in-law Hemlata Jat, and sisters-in-law Bhavna and Pooja Jat of severe mental torture and harassment. Nupur, who worked at a beauty parlour, had been living separately from her husband for the last four years. However, the harassment from her in-laws reportedly intensified over the past six months.

According to her note and video:

Nupur’s husband had stopped providing financial support and frequently quarreled with her.
She faced continuous mental pressure and abuse from her husband’s family.
Unable to bear the torment, Nupur decided to end her life.

After consuming the poison, Nupur called her friend Shraddha, who also worked at the beauty parlour, and informed her about the incident. Nupur was rushed to a private hospital in critical condition, but tragically, she passed away later that night.

Family’s Demand for Justice

Nupur’s family, originally from Narayangarh, Sailana district in Ratlam, rushed to Ujjain upon hearing the news. Her brother, Shivam Jat, and other relatives have demanded strict action against her in-laws, holding them responsible for her death.

Police Investigation Underway

The police have seized Nupur’s video and suicide note as evidence and have launched a thorough investigation into the case. Authorities are examining the allegations and questioning the accused family members.

A Broader Social Concern

This tragic case has once again highlighted the persistent issue of domestic harassment faced by women in India. Many fear that, like thousands of other cases, Nupur’s story might fade into obscurity unless swift and decisive action is taken. The incident has reignited debates on women’s safety, the need for stronger legal protections, and the tendency for such stories to gain attention only when the victim is a man.

Will Nupur Get Justice?

As the investigation continues, the question remains: Will Nupur receive the justice she deserves, or will her voice be lost among the countless unheard cries for help?
