Raid at OYO Hotel in Sambhal: Illegal Operation Busted, Couples Caught in Compromising Positions
A shocking case of fraud has come to light in Sambhal—not at a religious site this time, but at an illegally operated hotel. Acting on repeated complaints, the city magistrate and local police conducted a joint raid on a hotel running without any valid registration or documentation behind the Chaudhary Sarai police outpost.

Couples Caught Red-Handed
During the raid, authorities discovered five couples in compromising positions in the hotel rooms. The hotel, which has a total of nine rooms, was being run under the OYO brand without any legal paperwork. When questioned, the couples initially claimed to be married, but upon checking their IDs, officials found these claims to be false.
Ongoing Investigation
City Magistrate Sudhir Kumar stated that the raid was conducted following continuous complaints about suspicious activities at the hotel. The hotel manager revealed that the establishment had been operating for the past seven months. However, investigations confirmed that the hotel was neither registered under the Sarai Act nor possessed any No Objection Certificate (NOC) from relevant departments.
All five couples were detained and sent to the police station for further legal action. The hotel has been sealed, and all registers, documents, and CCTV DVRs have been confiscated for investigation.
Crackdown on Illegal Hotels
Officials emphasized that strict action will be taken against the hotel owner and anyone involved in running the illegal operation. The administration has warned that unregistered hotels operating without proper documentation will face similar consequences.
This incident has sparked a wave of discussions in Sambhal, highlighting the need for stricter regulations and vigilant monitoring of hotels and guesthouses in the area.
