A Chilling Tale of Caste Prejudice in Etawah’s Dadarapur Village

In a disturbing incident that has sparked outrage across Uttar Pradesh, a Bhagwat storyteller from the Yadav community was subjected to brutal public humiliation by villagers in Dadarapur, Etawah. Caste Identity Sparks Violence

The victim, a storyteller invited to recite religious tales, was accused of hiding his caste. Villagers, expecting a Brahmin, turned violent when he revealed he was a Yadav. According to the victim’s harrowing account, the mob beat him and his associate, chopped off their hair, forced them to rub their noses on villagers’ feet, and even sprayed them with urine—all in the name of “purification.”

“They asked my caste. I said I was a Yadav, not a Pandit. Suddenly, they accused me of deceiving them, cut my hair, forced me to touch everyone’s feet, and humiliated me further by sprinkling urine on me,” the victim recounted, his voice trembling.

Mob Fury and Public Humiliation

The ordeal didn’t end there. The mob confiscated their belongings, imposed a hefty fine, and only allowed them to leave after forcing them to perform degrading acts. The victim’s associate, Sant Kumar Yadav, suffered even worse—beaten mercilessly and forced to apologize repeatedly for sitting on the “Brahmin’s seat.”

Social Media Outrage and Political Uproar

As the video went viral, it triggered a storm of anger on social media and drew immediate political attention. Local leaders, including MP Jitendra Dohre and MLA Raghvendra Gautam, rushed to the police headquarters, demanding strict action against the accused and justice for the victims.

“This is a crime against humanity and the Constitution. We demand the harshest punishment for those responsible,” said a local leader, vowing protests if swift action wasn’t taken.

Police Response and Investigation

Etawah’s SSP Brijesh Kumar Srivastava assured the public that a probe was underway. “We have received the complaint and formed a special investigation team. Those found guilty will face the strictest legal action,” he stated, adding that the police were reviewing all video evidence and statements.

A Mirror to Society’s Deep-Rooted Prejudices

This incident has forced many to question the state of social harmony and justice in India. Why does caste still dictate honor and humiliation? Why did no one intervene before such inhuman acts were committed? And what does this say about the state’s law and order?

As the investigation continues, the nation watches closely—hoping for justice, and for a society where dignity is not determined by birth, but by humanity.
