In a deeply disturbing case from Haridwar, Uttarakhand, a former BJP Mahila Morcha district president has been arrested for allegedly facilitating the sexual abuse of her own minor daughter by her boyfriend and his associates. The shocking incident has sent shockwaves across the region and brought shame to the sacred city of Haridwar.

According to police reports, the accused woman had been embroiled in a prolonged dispute with her husband. For the past month, their 13-year-old daughter had been living with her father. The crime came to light when the girl’s father noticed her withdrawn behavior and, upon questioning her, learned of the horrific abuse. The minor revealed that her mother had forced her into sexual acts with her boyfriend and other men.

Senior Superintendent of Police Pramendra Singh confirmed that a medical examination of the victim corroborated her allegations. Following this, a case was registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and the accused woman was taken into custody. The police are currently searching for her boyfriend and other suspects involved in the crime.

The BJP’s Haridwar district president, Ashutosh Sharma, clarified that the accused, Anamika Sharma, had been relieved of her organizational responsibilities a year ago due to concerns over her conduct. Upon learning of her arrest and the grave charges against her, the party has now officially expelled her from primary membership.

Both police and party officials have assured strict action against all those found guilty in this heinous crime. The case has highlighted the urgent need for vigilance and swift justice in matters of child safety and abuse.
