बहराइच में पकड़ा गया सीरियल रेपिस्ट अविनाश पांडे उर्फ सिंपल, इसके कांड बहुत घिनौने निकले - Serial rapist Avinash Pandey alias Simple was caught in Bahraich, his crimes turned out ...

The Disappearance

Between June 25 and July 7, four girls went missing from Sujauli area in Bahraich. Their only wish was for some candy and biscuits, but their innocence was preyed upon by a man hiding monstrous intentions behind a friendly smile. The girls were lured away and taken to a forest, where they were subjected to brutal abuse.

The Predator

Avinash Pandey, who called himself “Simple,” was known in the community for his seemingly innocent demeanor. However, behind this facade was a predator who exploited the trust of children. He lured the girls with sweets and then committed acts that went beyond physical assault—they were an attack on the very soul of society.

Police investigations revealed disturbing evidence on his mobile phones, including nude and objectionable photographs of the victims. During interrogation, Pandey confessed to the crimes, claiming he himself had suffered abuse as a child—a chilling reminder of the cycle of trauma and violence.

Investigation and Arrest

The sensitive nature of the case prompted the formation of five special police teams, including SOG and surveillance units. Acting on clues from the survivors, police identified Pandey based on his appearance and behavior—two mobile phones, a tattoo on his hand, and a habit of drinking. He was apprehended after a brief chase, and further evidence, such as the girls’ clothing, empty liquor cartons, and the bicycle used for abductions, was recovered.

During questioning, Pandey admitted to his crimes, stating he believed children would not report the abuse. He even described buying clothes and food for the girls after the assaults, a twisted attempt to normalize his actions.

Community Reaction

The case has left the community in shock and anger. Many are asking how many more children must suffer before society takes real action. The incident has also reignited memories of the 2012 Nirbhaya case, highlighting how little has changed in terms of child safety and public awareness.

Police Response

Police officials, including Mahipurwa’s officer Hasthita Tiwari and Additional Superintendent D.P. Tiwari, were praised for their swift and sensitive handling of the case. The police have assured that the investigation will be thorough and that the accused will face the harshest punishment possible.

A Call for Change

This tragedy is a grim reminder that lighting candles and holding marches are not enough. Every act of silence emboldens perpetrators; every ignored warning weakens the cries of the innocent. Society must break the cycle of silence and demand accountability and protection for every child.

As the accused awaits trial, the community mourns yet another set of victims, hoping this time, outrage will lead to lasting change.
