Bihar Politics Sees Major Twists Amid Rahul Gandhi’s Claims of Electoral Fraud

The political landscape in Bihar, and indeed India, witnessed dramatic developments over the past 24 hours. Union Home Minister Amit Shah recently visited Bihar, laying the foundation stone for a temple in Sitamarhi, with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in attendance. Rahul Gandhi accused the Election Commission of siding with the ruling BJP, refusing transparency measures such as releasing machine-readable electoral rolls and relevant CCTV footage. He also claimed the BJP benefitted from these fraudulent practices, with seats won by narrow margins allegedly tipped by manipulated voter lists.

The findings were met with unease not just among opposition parties but also among NDA allies, with many questioning the future of regional parties in the political scenario shaped by the BJP’s dominance.

Consequently, the leaders of the INDIA bloc have decided to organize a protest march to the Election Commission on August 11, demanding accountability and reforms.
