Cases Filed Against Tejashwi Yadav for Derogatory Remarks on PM Modi Amidst Heated Bihar Elections

Former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar and senior RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav is facing legal trouble after making derogatory comments against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. An FIR has been registered at Shahjahanpur’s Sadar Bazar police station following a complaint by BJP Metropolitan President Shilpi Gupta. The police have begun investigating the matter.

According to the complaint, an official post from the RJD’s X (formerly Twitter) handle was made early Friday morning at 6:58 AM, allegedly containing objectionable comments about PM Modi along with his photo. A copy of the post has been attached as evidence in the case.

The controversy intensified during a press conference at the RJD office in Patna later that day, where Tejashwi Yadav referred to Prime Minister Modi as a “pickpocket PM” and stated, “We do not want a pickpocket PM.” BJP leaders have condemned these remarks, claiming they have hurt public sentiments and demanding strict action against Tejashwi Yadav.

Shahjahanpur SP Rajesh Dwivedi confirmed that the FIR has been filed under sections 353(2) and 1971A of the BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita), and the investigation is ongoing. Notably, a similar case has also been registered in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli district, where BJP MLA Milind Narote filed a complaint against Tejashwi Yadav for objectionable posts against the Prime Minister. Charges under sections 196, 356, 352, and 353 have been invoked.

These developments come as Bihar approaches critical elections, with political tensions running high and accusations flying across party lines. Rahul Gandhi and RJD chief Tejashwi Yadav are currently leading the Bihar Voter Rights Yatra, raising awareness about alleged voter fraud and vote theft. On the fifth day of the Yatra, Rahul Gandhi addressed a crowd in Munger, asserting that recent election results were manipulated and accusing the Election Commission and BJP of colluding to steal votes.

The political climate in Bihar remains charged, with both sides intensifying their campaigns and legal actions as the election draws near.
