Chaos in Bihar: Police Raid Turns Deadly as Villagers Clash Over Liquor Bust—One Killed in Shocking Shootout!

A routine police raid in Bihar’s Bhojpur district spiraled into chaos on Sunday evening, leaving one man dead and a village in turmoil. The incident unfolded in Ward No. 3 of Shahpur Nagar Panchayat, where an Excise Department team launched a crackdown following reports of illegal liquor activity.

According to official sources, the Excise team, led by ASI Ajay Kumar, arrived at the village around 7:30 PM. Their arrival, however, was met with fierce resistance from locals. Villagers, angered by the raid, attacked the police team with bricks and stones, injuring at least one officer.

As the situation escalated, police resorted to firing to control the crowd. Tragically, a bullet struck Sunil Kumar, a 45-year-old resident of the area, who was reportedly standing on the road. He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Eyewitnesses claim that Sunil Kumar was not involved in any illegal activity and was merely a bystander returning from a football match when he was caught in the crossfire. The incident immediately sparked outrage, with villagers staging protests, blocking roads, and burning tires to demand justice.

Police officials have launched a full investigation into the shooting, including forensic analysis of the weapons used. Authorities are also probing whether the raid was conducted based on accurate information and if proper protocol was followed.

Local leaders, including former MLA candidate Manmohan Mishra, have called for accountability and a thorough inquiry. “The situation was mishandled, and an innocent life was lost,” Mishra stated.

Meanwhile, the area remains tense as villagers continue to voice their anger against the police. The district administration has assured the public that action will be taken based on the findings of the ongoing investigation.
