Former Karnataka MP Prajwal Revanna Convicted in Rape Case
The political temperature continues to rise with the ongoing statements and actions of MPs and politicians. In Karnataka, Prajwal Revanna, former MP from Hassan and a leader of Janata Dal (Secular), has been found guilty in a rape case. Prajwal Revanna is the grandson of former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda.
A special court, constituted for criminal cases against MPs and MLAs, has declared Prajwal Revanna guilty. There are three rape cases and one sexual harassment case filed against him. He has been convicted in the first rape case.
The case involves the rape of a 48-year-old domestic worker. The sentence for Prajwal Revanna is yet to be announced, with the verdict expected on Saturday. The trial was conducted on a daily basis and completed within two months.
The 34-year-old Prajwal Revanna came into the limelight last year when over 2,000 obscene video clips surfaced on social media, allegedly showing him sexually abusing multiple women.
