From Fame to Felony

For months, Mehak and Pari ran riot on Instagram, gaining notoriety for their bold, profanity-laden videos, which went viral across social platforms. Their content, described by police as “highly objectionable,” wasn’t just about shock value—it reportedly earned the duo between Rs. 25 to Rs. 300 per video. The lure of easy money and viral fame allegedly drove them to push the boundaries even further.

Police Crack Down Hard

Authorities in Sambhal district’s Asmoli area launched an investigation after numerous complaints about the sisters’ explicit videos and foul language. The police quickly identified the faces behind the now-infamous ‘mehakpari143’ Instagram handle: Meharul Nisha (aka Pari), Mehak, Hina, and Zarrar Alam. All four have been arrested and sent to jail as the case unfolds under IPC sections, including IT Act 67 and 296 DBNS.

Superintendent Krishna Bishnoi stressed that these arrests should serve as a stern warning to all social media users seeking “cheap popularity” by breaking the law. “Everyone has a right to expression, but there are moral boundaries society must respect,” Bishnoi stated.

Social Media on Fire: Divided Opinions

The news of Mehak and Pari’s arrest exploded on social media. Some netizens hailed the crackdown, insisting that such content should be curbed to protect young audiences. Others questioned the accountability of the girls’ large fanbase, with calls for action against their followers who fueled their rise to viral infamy.

One user commented, “Law should be blind—punishment must be given, regardless of gender!” Another wrote, “Even the 400K followers should be held accountable!” Debate continues to rage about freedom of expression and the risks of internet stardom.

The Price of Going Viral

As the investigation continues, both supporters and critics wonder: Where is the line between fame and infamy on social media? With police vowing further action, the fate of Mehak, Pari, and their viral empire hangs in the balance.
