She Deserved Justice, Not Fire”: A Father’s Agony After Daughter’s Death Sparks Outrage and Police Encounter
In a heart-wrenching case that has drawn widespread public attention, the father of Nikki, a woman who allegedly died due to domestic violence and extreme cruelty, spoke out emotionally after one of the key accused, Vipin Bhati, was shot in the leg during a police encounter while in custody.
Vipin Bhati, accused of horrific acts leading to Nikki’s death, was injured as police claim he attempted to escape. The father, visibly distressed yet composed, reacted to the incident saying, “I am satisfied with the police action. If petty thieves can be shot, then why not these monsters? They don’t deserve mercy.”
The case has sparked a debate not only about police encounters but also the deep-rooted issues of domestic abuse and dowry harassment. Nikki, who had been married for nine years, reportedly did not voice any concerns during her marriage until recently when the situation drastically worsened. Her father questioned the sudden shift in their relationship, expressing disbelief that someone who was once part of the family could turn so dangerous.
Referring to Bhati’s claims that Nikki died by suicide, the father rejected them outright. “If he truly cared, he would have taken her to the hospital. He left her to burn. A neighbor eventually rescued her.”
An even more tragic twist came when Bhati’s own son allegedly told authorities that his father set Nikki on fire using a lighter. While the family chose not to expose the child further, citing concerns for his mental well-being, they affirmed the boy’s testimony came unprompted and uncoached.
The father, speaking for a grieving family and a broken community, appealed passionately for justice. “People who do this should be hanged. No punishment short of that is acceptable. Courts must ensure such criminals never walk free again.”
He also questioned why, after nearly a decade of marriage, dowry demands suddenly intensified. “It’s because he didn’t want to work. He wanted easy money. Those who earn through hard work don’t act like this.”
With Bhati’s parents and brother still absconding, police efforts to apprehend them continue. The family, meanwhile, demands swift justice, not just through encounters but through strict legal action to ensure accountability and deterrence.
As the case unfolds, it shines a stark light on the lingering shadows of domestic violence, dowry greed, and the failure of society to act before it’s too late. Nikki’s story is not just about one woman—it’s about the countless others who remain unheard until tragedy strikes.
