Shocking news has rocked Bollywood as actress Shilpa Shetty and her husband, businessman Raj Kundra, find themselves facing serious allegations of fraud worth nearly ₹60 crore. The accusations come from Mumbai-based businessman Deepak Kothare, who claims that Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra deceived him out of this massive sum over the past eight years.

The Allegations:

According to Kothare, between 2015 and 2023, he invested large amounts of money for the business expansion of the couple’s ventures. However, he now claims that instead of using the funds for business, Shilpa and Raj diverted the money for personal expenses.

Kothare detailed that in April 2015, he first transferred about ₹31.95 crore as an initial installment. Subsequently, from July 2015 to March 2016, he sent another ₹28.54 crore, along with a payment of ₹3.19 lakh as stamp duty. He also claimed that in April 2016, Shilpa Shetty gave him a personal guarantee regarding the investments. But shockingly, just months later, in September 2016, she resigned from her position as a company director.

Hidden Insolvency and No Response:

What’s more, soon after Shilpa’s resignation, Kothare alleges that insolvency proceedings were filed against the company for ₹1.28 crore—something he says he was never informed about. Despite repeated attempts to get his money back, Kothare claims his requests were ignored.

The businessman initially filed a complaint at Mumbai’s Juhu Police Station, but as the case grew in complexity, it was handed over to the Economic Offenses Wing.

Shetty–Kundra Deny Charges:

Meanwhile, Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra have dismissed the allegations as baseless. As the controversy continues to grow, an alleged phone conversation between Raj and the complainant has now gone viral, adding further fuel to the already sensational case.
